Base pay range

$175,000.00/yr - $250,000.00/yr

Latitude is seeking an experienced commercial litigation attorney located in New York to work with a law firm on a part-time opportunity. Applicants should have 5+ years of complex commercial litigation experience, including handling pre-trial pleadings, motions, depositions and discovery. The candidate should also have strong legal research skills, proficiency with litigation databases and a strong ability to handle complex contractual issues. While industry experience in renewable energy is a plus, it is not required. Applicants should be located in or around New York City or Albany and must be licensed in New York

This litigation attorney position is a contract engagement.

Basic Requirements for the Commercial Litigation Attorney

• 5+ years of experience in commercial litigation, ideally with motions practice, discovery, and deposition experience
• Prior experience handling corporate issues as well as contractual disputes a must; familiarity with complex or niche contract law issues a plus
• Strong legal research skills and proficiency with litigation databases
• Oral argument experience preferred, but not required
• Licensed to practice law in New York
• Excellent analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Type of role: Contract litigation counsel
• Schedule: Part-time initially about 60 hours/month, with significant ramp-up as trial approaches
• Location: Remote (with ability to be in an NYC office or in Albany as requested)

Compensation:

Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $175,000 to $250,000 or more when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate's preference (each candidate's pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate's competitiveness for the position).

Benefits: Latitude contract professionals are usually W2 employees of Latitude and are eligible for full benefits when working in roles for 20 hours per week. Benefits-eligible Latitude contract professionals receive complimentary Group Life, LTD and AD&D. A qualified 401k plan is also available. Benefits-eligible Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
