Summary:

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing bids, conceptual cost models, and budgets; performing quantitative analyses of construction documents and project program requirements for assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare bids, conceptual cost models, and budgets; perform quantitative analyses of construction documents and project program requirements for projects assigned.
  • Review project documents to define demolition scope.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to build relationships and clarify project details.
  • Attend site visits and meet with clients to assess project scope.
  • Use plans to accurately quantify take-offs.
  • Review pricing and compile a clear proposal to effectively communicate overall scope.
  • Understand and apply project constructability to the estimate format and costing. Discuss and establish bid strategies, concerns, and advantages.
  • Collaborate with Lead Estimator to set goals for percentage of award, accuracy of takeoffs, scope completeness, coverage, etc.
  • Build and facilitate team processes among project participants.
  • Attend pre-construction meetings.
  • Provide team leadership during bid closings.
  • Correspond with General Contractors during the bid process.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • BA/BS degree in a related field or equivalent work experience in construction estimating or project management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build successful relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with estimating software.
  • General understanding of construction concepts.
  • Knowledge of project schedules and durations in construction.
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
  • Strong analytical and logical skills with high precision in detailed work.
  • Effective communication skills (written, oral, listening) for diverse audiences.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel across the Denver metro area.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently under time constraints.
