Overview:
The COLUMBIA Class Program Office is seeking program representatives to support growing work in the design of the COLUMBIA Class ship.
In the Program Office you will get exposure to all facets of the Electric Boat enterprise including design and engineering, planning, finance, contracts, construction and facilities. As the core disclosures ramp down and construction ramps up for COLUMBIA, design upgrades in the form of tasks from the Navy are increasing. There are currently over 70 independent tasks that require program level management that range from Ship Control to ILS. The management of these tasks will include interfacing with many costumers inside and outside of EB; design, engineering, planning, finance, contracts, construction, PMS397, SUPSHIPs, etc. As a Program Office Representative, you will be responsible for the execution, management, cost, schedule and reporting of each task up through the executive staff level. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring all road blocks, technical and financial, are removed to keep the tasks on track. This position requires a highly motivated self-starter who possesses strong interpersonal and communications skills. Work hours are somewhat flexible with occasional work from home, when needed.
Responsibilities:
The program representative will manage a number of tasks and will work with the engineering managers and their staff to ensure successful execution of tasks. This role requires an understanding of project management, and Earned Value Management (EVM). Frequent communication with NAVSEA stakeholders and management will be necessary.
