College Mentor - Tucson Unified District : Job Details

SUMMARY Under supervision, the College Mentor will assist students in achieving academic goals utilizing AVID and Culturally Relevant Practices strategies through individual tutoring and/or tutoring in study groups, assist in the preparation of instructional materials, academic mentoring, and perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Must be at least 18 years of age. Currently Enrolled College Student, with a minimum of 30 Credit hours AND Minimum 2.5 GPA (Copy of transcripts must be furnished prior to employment) Verbal & written communication skills in English and Spanish Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prior tutoring and/or mentoring experience ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE FBI fingerprint background check. Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization. COMMENTS Effective: 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR Location: Mexican American Student Services - Various Sites 4 hours per day Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
