Collections Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Collections Specialist to join our dynamic team in a hybrid capacity. This role requires an individual who is proactive and skilled at managing collection efforts in a professional setting. You will collaborate with various departments and offer essential support to ensure efficient collection processes.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with Billing Attorneys to facilitate collection initiatives.
- Initiate client contact for payment collection as instructed by Billing Attorneys.
- Review accounts receivable to identify and follow up on overdue invoices.
- Coordinate with Billing Attorneys to provide collection support for aged invoices.
- Send payment reminders and replicate invoices when necessary.
- Draft and dispatch collection letters with the agreement of Billing Attorneys.
- Execute accounts receivable write-offs upon approval.
- Monitor e-billing platforms to assess invoice status and manage rejections efficiently.
- Evaluate invoice deductions and develop procedures to reduce future occurrences.
- Maintain detailed spreadsheets for aged and appealed items, including deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with Partners, Chief Operating Officer, and various departments.
- Handle ad hoc requests and participate in special projects as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in collections.
- Experience in a law firm or professional services environment is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Aderant and e-billing platforms is beneficial.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
