Our client is seeking a Temporary Collections Specialist to support our team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable engaging with merchants over the phone, obtaining payment authorizations, sending follow-up emails, and performing basic administrative tasks. We value efficiency, organization, and a candidate comfortable with Excel. This temporary role may transition into a long-term position for the right candidate. Responsibilities: 1. Phone Communication: Engage with merchants via phone to discuss outstanding payments, negotiate payment plans, and provide payment solutions. 2. Payment Authorization: Obtain payment authorizations through effective communication and negotiation skills. 3. Follow-up: Send out timely and professional follow-up emails to merchants, ensuring clarity on payment expectations. 4. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all communications, payment agreements, and relevant merchant information. 5. Efficient Time Management: Prioritize tasks to maximize efficiency and meet collection targets. 6. Basic Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative duties such as data entry, filing, and document management. 7. Excel Proficiency: Use Excel for basic record-keeping and data management. Requirements: 1. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 2. Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate effectively and secure payment commitments. 3. Organization: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records. 4. Time Management: Proven ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines. 5. Comfort with Excel: Proficient in using Excel for basic record-keeping and data analysis. 6. Qualifications: Previous experience in collections, customer service, or a related field is preferred.
