Receivables-based (MCA) financing company is seeking a Collections Paralegal to join its growing legal department in NYC.
The successful candidate will:
- Provide legal support to collections efforts both through the UCC and litigation.
- Assist with collections process from the initial default notice to filing of a lawsuit and post judgment activities.
- Maintain communication with client's payment processors and account receivables departments to determine status of payments.
- Compose and issue standard commercial and consumer collections letters.
- Assist with the preparation of litigation filings from inception of the case to the enforcement of judgments, in accordance with the FDCPA, Rules of Civil Procedure, and local court procedures.
- Communicate with debtors and their counsel regarding payoffs and settlements, and monitor receipt of debtor payments.
- Monitor judgment lien renewal dates and process accordingly.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three years of professional office experience, preferably in a law firm environment and an undergraduate degree. Litigation experience is a plus. The candidate must be proficient in MS Office Suite including Word and Excel.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
