This position is responsible for mitigating loan losses by monitoring and coordinating collection efforts on delinquent accounts. This includes management of foreclosure prevention activities on loans included in Repayment and Forbearance plans, Short Sales, Deeds in Lieu of Foreclosure, and Loan Modifications, as well as processing insurance claims with investors, insurance companies, or government/private insurance agencies. Additionally, this role involves monitoring judicial and non-judicial foreclosures and managing Credit Union approved attorney relationships to ensure timely resolution of foreclosure accounts. The position also ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Credit Union policies and procedures.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and comply with all Federal, State, NCUA, Secondary Market, and internal credit union policies and procedures. The candidate should be able to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and work with mathematical concepts such as statistics, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions relevant to credit union situations. Strong experience with Loan Origination systems, ancillary loan systems, and vendors such as Corelogic, Credit Union Core operating systems, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in residential and consumer loan collections and loss mitigation.
  • Strong knowledge of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Mortgage Servicing, and Secondary Market Requirements related to default management and loss mitigation.
  • Knowledge of current industry practices, procedures, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with a desire to learn and grow.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
