This role is 95% remote - one day every other month may be required for onsite meetings! It is required to be semi-local or able to come onsite to the Blue Springs, MO area.

Overview:

Seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Coding Team Lead. This is a working-manager type of role, with approximately 80% of your time spent coding and the remaining 20% dedicated to mentoring and supporting a team of two coders. The ideal candidate will have strong hospital outpatient coding expertise, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to guide others in best practices. You will ensure accurate and compliant coding of medical records, support billing and reimbursement processes, and help maintain high standards for accuracy and compliance.

Job Duties:

• Perform hospital outpatient coding for multiple critical access hospitals.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines, regulations, and payer requirements.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior coders, assisting with complex cases and best practices.
• Collaborate with leadership to help shape and develop this new coding service line.
• Maintain a high level of productivity and quality in a remote work setting.
• Occasionally attend onsite meetings or training sessions as needed (90%+ remote)
