Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay range $75.00/hr - $80.00/hrResponsibilities Kforce has a client in NYC that is seeking a COBOL Batch Programmer. In this role, the COBOL Batch Programmer assists in designing, developing, and supporting applications. Responsibilities include:Systems analysis and design, programming, implementation and supportFull scale programming, project management and user documentationWorking with technical and application support staff to identify/resolve problemsMaintaining the change management process for all user and system/application updatesDevelop and understand all features of each module and their impact on other modulesAnalyze and develop understanding of how data flows through the system and apply that knowledge to the current business modelIdentify and define system errors and/or deficienciesLiaise with other developers to determine best path solutions and manage priorities through collaboration with internal stakeholdersPlan and coordinate testing and implementation of system patches and upgrades leading a cross-functional team of power usersRequirements A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, applied Mathematics, Business Administration, Economics/Statistics, Telecommunications, Data Communications, or a related field of study; Or a satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education, and experience5+ years of progressive, responsible experience in the field of data processing, computer systems, and applications5+ years of supervisory experience5+ years of extensive batch COBOL programming experience on mainframe applications5+ years of experience with CICS, DB2, VSAM and JCL5+ years of full project life cycle experienceTelecommunications background and experienceBroad knowledge and expertise in the characteristics of computers, peripheral devices, communications systems and hardware capabilities, programming languages, E.D.P. applications, systems analysis methodology, data management and retrieval techniquesStrong testing skillsKnowledge of SAS and Easytrieve programming languages a plusThe pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
