H2M architects + engineers, a multidiscipline architectural, engineering, environmental consulting firm in Melville, NY seeks a Coatings Inspector for construction-related and regular maintenance of water storage tanks.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform observations in accordance with the techniques and procedures outlined by the company, industry and certification held.
• Meet with and observe and record contractors' activities at various project sites as required.
• Regularly climb elevated tower/ladder +/-200' elevation and utilize safety equipment throughout tank observation operations.
• Observe details of work performed by others, document results, and obtain photographic documentation of work product.
• Prepare written observation reports in accordance with H2M standards.
• Determine and ensure compliance with technical documents and industry-specific standards and codes and report back on the same.
• Review and download field data into laptop computer and transfer to company server in accordance with standards outlined.
• Prepare detailed daily job reports and discuss projects with supervisor on a daily basis.
• Perform other like duties as assigned in office or field.

Education and Qualifications:

• Willing to Train and Assist with Certifications.
• Valid Driver's License and ability to drive to various project sites in own vehicle.
• Proficient knowledge of coatings, techniques and procedures.
• Ability to interpret and receive instructions on specific assignment, objectives, and complex features on a regular basis.
• Ability to stand, climb and walk continuously during an 8+-hour period.
• Ability to climb elevated ladders +/-200' elevation with 35-pound load.
• Ability to perform strenuous work in a varying climate (heat and cold, etc.).
• Must be able to effectively use technology in the office and field.
• Must have good computer skills and be able to learn related software.
• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Note: Occasional nights and weekends may be required.
• NACE Certification Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 Certified.
• OSHA Construction Safety Training Preferred.

The salary range for this role is $30 - $50 / hour.
