Co-Founder & Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – EdTech & Fintech Startup (Equity-Based)

PopStock is a groundbreaking EdTech-meets-Fintech platform teaching financial literacy through a simulated stock market based on pop culture. By combining AI-powered learning, gamification, and a unique artist-trading model, PopStock is reshaping how young people learn money management, investing, and economic systems.

We are seeking a co-founder-level CFO with deep financial expertise, including nonprofit accounting knowledge, to help shape our dual-entity structure and drive financial integrity across both arms of the company. This is an equity-based opportunity for a financial leader ready to help build and scale a mission-driven education platform.

Who You Are

• A finance professional with experience in both for-profit and nonprofit financial systems
• Comfortable navigating grant funding, donor relations, and IRS compliance alongside startup fundraising
• Experienced in startup financial ops: modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and compliance
• Mission-aligned: passionate about youth empowerment, education, and economic equity
• CPA or MBA with nonprofit exposure is preferred, but not required
• Bonus: You've worked with early-stage startups or educational organizations

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage financial strategies and models across both for-profit and nonprofit entities
• Establish scalable systems for accounting, reporting, and cash flow management
• Support fundraising and grant efforts; build materials and projections for investors and funders
• Ensure regulatory and tax compliance, including for nonprofit filings and reporting
• Work with the CEO and leadership team on go-to-market, revenue strategy, and impact tracking
• Help guide organizational planning as a core co-founding executive
