Cloud Systems EngineerDenver, CO area6-month contract-to-Hire$95 - $105 per hour contract with a conversion salary of $215K annuallyJob Description: Cloud Systems EngineerWe are seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer with strong networking troubleshooting skills to join our high-performing team in a fast-paced, Agile environment. This is an onsite position in the Denver area, where collaboration, rapid iteration, and STIG-compliant documentation are central to our workflow. US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work. Current security clearance is not needed, but willing to get one if necessary. 9/80 schedule allowing every other Friday off.Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage AWS environments (CloudFormation, Lambda, S3, FSx, EFS, IAM, VPN, etc.)
• Perform system hardening and maintain STIG compliance across Windows, Linux (RHEL/SLES), and network devices
• Troubleshoot and support networking (IPSec, Cisco) and infrastructure performance issues
• Administer and support Windows/Linux systems and Microsoft Active Directory
• Utilize configuration management tools (OSSEC, Ansible) and monitoring tools (Datadog)
• Manage VMware virtual environments (ESXi, vCenter)
• Maintain endpoint protection (ClamAV, Sophos, Cloud Virus Scanning)
• Thoroughly document configurations, troubleshooting steps, and system changes

Required Qualifications:

• Strong background in AWS cloud services and automation
• Proven networking and troubleshooting experience (IPSec, Cisco)
• Proficiency in Linux/Windows system administration
• Familiarity with STIG compliance and security hardening practices
• Hands-on experience with VMware, Active Directory, and virus protection tools
• Strong documentation habits in fast-paced, iterative environments

Preferred Skills:

• AWS or VMware certifications
• Experience with Nessus, Datadog, and Agile workflows
