Position Summary

As the Cloud Security Architect, you will work on-site at our corporate office in Springfield, MO, and have the opportunity to shape the vision and strategy for public cloud security at Bass Pro Shops. The successful candidate should have expertise in building enterprise cloud security solutions, extensive experience with Azure, GCP, AWS, and other cloud services. You should have deep expertise in information security solutions across cloud platforms. The role involves providing technical leadership, developing strategic roadmaps, blueprints, standards, and reference architectures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and implement cloud security architectures and policies.

Essential Functions

• Integrate security testing and compliance validation into CI/CD workflows using tools like Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, and container registries.
• Develop security-as-code and policy-as-code models to enforce controls at scale.
• Embed security practices early in development processes (shift-left).
• Drive automated incident response, vulnerability management, and threat detection workflows.

Cloud Security Architecture & Governance

• Design secure cloud-native solutions with emphasis on zero-trust, SDN, and IAM.
• Implement security controls for networks, data, and workloads.
• Leverage CSPM, CWPP, and CASB technologies.
• Create secure landing zones and reference architectures aligned with governance models.

Standards, Strategy & Innovation

• Establish and improve cloud security policies and standards.
• Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments.
• Evaluate emerging security technologies.
• Lead architecture review processes for compliance and risk management.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Serve as security architecture advisor to teams.
• Provide strategic guidance on containerized, serverless, and DevSecOps security.
• Collaborate with audit and compliance teams.
• Mentor engineers and architects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in IT architecture or cloud security engineering.
• 5+ years building and securing cloud environments in Azure, GCP, or private clouds.
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, IaC, and security testing tools.
• Knowledge of cloud security services in Azure and GCP.
• Certifications like CISSP, Azure Security Engineer, GCP Security Engineer are preferred.
