Position summary: Responsible for engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments with limited supervision. Acts as a technical advisor to less experienced engineers. U.S. Residency Required.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope
- Develop construction cost estimates
- Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction
- Manage project sub-consultants and in-house support disciplines
- Develop extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals
- Prepare proposals as required
- Attend meetings with clients
- Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality
- Project management experience including design and construction projects, schedule preparation, review contractor payment application, leading meetings with clients and stakeholders, coordination with project members (internal/external), good organization skills, handling multiple tasks and/or projects simultaneously, and report writing.

Required Skills
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program
- EIT Certification
- 5-10 years' experience in specialized discipline
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Written and communication skills
Qualifications Preferred
- Experience working with local clients at the county and state level
Working Conditions
Work to be performed is anticipated within a general office environment 50% to 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.

Qualifications:
- Candidates must have the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-production office environment, build successful team relationships and maintain positive coworker interactions
- Candidates must demonstrate familiarity with hydraulic designs, sewer rehabilitation, water and sewer design, water and water/wastewater treatment process design, engineering economics, preparation of specifications and engineering report writing
- Candidates must demonstrate organized practices, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have flexibility to support time-critical report development and production in order to meet demanding schedules
- Candidates should have a firm grasp of general heavy construction principles; environmental facilities operations-related experience is considered a plus
- Applicant should demonstrate strong team-building skills
- Candidate should be able to present technical writing product to internal team
- Strong computer skills are required: MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, ArcGIS, and MS Project are a plus
