Clinical Support Assistant - Part Time - Night Shift - Includes Weekend Hours - Stony Brook University : Job Details

At Stony Brook Medicine, our Clinical Support Assistant, under the direction of the Shift Supervisor and in consult with Radiology Technologist's and RN in Radiology and other areas, facilitate the through put of patient's in all Radiology areas in the Emergency Department, and other Radiology services areas. Duties of the Clinical Support Assistant include the following but are not limited to: Review Radiological orders for need of oral contrast, blood work requirements for, and other Pre-requisites for test. See patient prior to test to identify any barriers preventing efficient performance of test. Such as, removal of jewelry, removal of street clothes. Explain test to patient & provide reasonable expectations for test. Communicate with ordering Clinician as to the pending needs of the patient, labs, time for oral contrast, status of turnaround time for completion of exam, issues barriers to getting exam performed.
