The Clinical Services Coordinator - Operating Room plays a pivotal leadership role within our modern healthcare environment. Reporting to the Nurse Manager, this position involves collaboration in promoting and executing the vision, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Medical Center and Nursing Service. We seek a candidate with exemplary leadership and communication skills to foster a safe and nurturing atmosphere that prioritizes clinical excellence and exceptional patient service. This role serves as a critical liaison among clinical staff, physicians, and support personnel to enhance patient outcomes throughout the care continuum.
- Expertise in AORN Standards: In-depth knowledge of the AORN Standards and Recommended Practices, translating them into effective perioperative nursing practices.
- Analytical Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills necessary for addressing complex issues using scientific, mathematical, or technical principles.
- Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with patients, families, and healthcare teams, facilitating collaboration and problem-solving.
- Customer Service Orientation: Demonstrate courtesy and tact in interactions with patients and staff, especially in sensitive situations.
- Professional Integrity: Uphold the highest ethical standards in nursing, maintaining accuracy in records and decisions, while adhering to organizational policies.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively, ensuring timely completion of assignments while meeting guidelines.
- Commitment to Development: Take initiative in personal professional development, staying current with nursing trends and advancements.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Suite and EPIC software.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Continuous enrollment in a BSN program with completion within 2 years is acceptable.
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse license in New York State required.
- Certifications: CNOR preferred (or actively pursuing with completion within 2 years).
- CPR Certification: Valid CPR certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of Operating Room experience, demonstrating competency in both scrub and circulating roles.
- Leadership Experience: Proven experience in a charge or resource role; prior management or supervisory experience is preferred.
