The Clinical Nurse Specialist demonstrates an advanced level of professional competence in a specialized field of nursing. In this position, the CNS works collaboratively with Division and Service Area education, nursing, quality and other clinical leaders to impact care outcomes by providing expert consultation and supporting improvements in patient care delivery. Specifically, the CNS leads in the development of nursing practice that incorporates established national specialty practice guidelines, regulatory requirements, an interdisciplinary framework, outcomes from nursing and healthcare research, best practice changes in healthcare that impact patient care delivery; and advances in technology that support efficient and effective patient care.
