Registered Nurse, Radiology Per Diem

The Interventional Radiology Procedures Department performs non-operative treatment & diagnostic procedures on patients that need pain management of spinal and sports-related injuries, and other musculoskeletal problems. The image guided procedures performed are conducted by a board-certified radiologist with a support team of nurses, NPs, PAs, and technologists. The procedures and treatments performed include epidural steroid injections - cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and caudal, facet joint injections - cervical, thoracic, and lumbar, intramuscular and subcutaneous trigger/tender point injections, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections, diagnostic and therapeutic injections, musculoskeletal and joint injection/aspirations, nerve blocks, etc.

As an integral member of our Magnet Nursing team, the successful RN candidate will be focused on patient advocacy and delivering the highest quality of care to our patients! Working in an evidence-based nursing environment that commands excellence every day, you will provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative nursing care to our patients and their families in this acute care setting. Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with radiologists, nurses, and PAs in an image guided procedures unit
  • Prepare patients for procedures including pre-procedure instruction, pre-procedure assessments, intravenous access, and accurate documentation.
  • Provides intra-procedure monitoring and medication management according to departmental protocols and radiologist direction.
  • Facilitate and ensure safety of patient until transferred to post-procedural recovery area or continuum of care partner.
  • Acts as a patient advocate for patient and family members.
  • Supports department and organization's goals.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BSN from an accredited school of nursing required
  • 1+ years' of PACU, ICU, Step Down, or ED Experience. Procedural area experience preferred.
  • NYS RN license and registration required
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required

Essential Qualifications

  • HCAHPS/EPIC knowledge preferred
