Position: Clinical Nurse Instructor

Schedule: 5x8 Days, 7:30am - 4pm
Hourly Rate: $82
Overview: The Clinical Nurse Instructor is responsible for developing, conducting, and evaluating in-service programs, orientation, and continuing education for nurses, students and other staff
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Nursing
- NYS Licensed Registered Nurse
- AHA Certification as an instructor in BCLS and ACLS
- 2 years of experience as a clinical nurse instructor in Medsurg or ICU units
- Proof of full Covid-19 Vaccination
Responsibilities:
- Develops and directs orientation programs, in-services and continuing education for the nurses
- Conducts classes and/or provides individual instruction.
- Develops objectives for each in-service and evaluates presentation and teaching material
- Interacts professionally with the nursing staff and nurse managers to determine specific educational needs
- Ability to develop instructional materials; set-up and demonstrate patient care equipment.
- Assigns in-service topics to staff members to develop and teach.
- Supervises nurse preceptor program; supervises all students on the unit.
- Responsible for developing a budget for educational programs
- Documents staff attendance at in-services; ensures educational requirements
- Orients new staff members; evaluates skill competencies during the 90-day probationary period; makes recommendations for firing, hiring and promotions.
- Plans and coordinates conferences and seminars; uses community resources.
- Ability to serve as a resource person, consultant to nursing and medical staff, students and ancillary staff members.
