In This Role, You Will:

• Independently perform specimen processing and testing, including moderate and high complexity testing.
• Analyze test results, demonstrating a strong understanding of pathological processes and correlating disease states with test outcomes.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on assigned instruments, troubleshooting and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Exhibit proactive problem-solving skills by identifying issues and taking appropriate actions, knowing when to seek guidance for complex troubleshooting protocols.
• Implement quality control measures, including running controls, evaluating data, documenting results, and taking corrective actions as required.
• Effectively communicate relevant quality control information to supervisors or lead technicians.
• Review, write, or modify departmental procedures and policies as needed.
• Achieve timeliness in skill development and satisfactorily complete the competency checklist for your position.
• Take responsibility for your professional development, including cross-training in other functions to ensure the department operates efficiently and to enhance staffing flexibility.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma (or equivalent) with 15 years of clinical lab experience OR
• Associate's Degree with a minimum of 2 years of clinical lab experience OR
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required, preferably with clinical lab experience.
• Candidates must possess one of the following certifications: MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MT(AMT), MT(AAB), CLS(NCA), MT(HEW), CLT(NCA), MLT(ASCP), or MLT(AMT). Note: Certification is waived for candidates with 5 or more years of lab experience.
