Job Summary

The Clinical Informatics Specialist is a key player in enhancing clinical processes through technology integration. Reporting to the Associate CNIO, this role is pivotal in ensuring that clinical informatics align with overarching clinical information technology strategies.

Essential Functions

  • Engages positively with colleagues, visitors, and staff, embodying the values of Jefferson.
  • Adheres to Patient Satisfaction Initiative Criteria, making Jefferson Health a preferred choice for patients and employees.
  • Collaborates effectively on improving clinical operations during all phases of electronic medical record (EMR) implementation.
  • Encourages innovative thinking in workflow process development.
  • Develops and executes content management processes for best practice workflows, order sets, and documentation tools across the system.
  • Assesses needs and implements strategies linking practice guidelines to electronic medical records systems, providing insight on future informatics directions.
  • Demonstrates teamwork within the department, possibly leading efforts when required.
  • Keeps abreast of the nursing informatics literature and best practices, reporting regularly on findings.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Education:

BSN Required; Master's degree in a relevant field preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years nursing experience and 5+ years in informatics or closely related fields.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required):

  • Familiarity with computer systems and database development.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and work effectively within teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams.
