Clinical Application Professional 3 role at UCSF Health
As a seasoned clinical applications professional, you will work on projects of medium size at all levels of complexity, or portions of large projects, and provide application support for a suite of Enterprise Imaging IT applications.
Responsibilities
- Provide application support for Enterprise Imaging IT applications, including: School of Dentistry PACS and workflow; ED PACS systems and workflows; Ortho Templating and PACS systems; OB PACS and workflows; Imaging DICOM Router; Vendor Neutral Archive; Visible Light PACS and workflows; and other Enterprise Imaging IT AI applications per business needs.
- Work with departments across the UCSF enterprise to perform work/dataflow discovery, configure, test, and deploy imaging acquisition and image exchange workflows.
- Maintain partnerships with departments, develop Enterprise Imaging solution strategies, present options to leadership and governance, and manage Enterprise Imaging application upgrades and change management.
- Apply knowledge of DICOM, HL7, FHIR, IOCM and other Enterprise Imaging IT workflows; participate in ITIL Service Management, SDLC, and change management processes.
- Lead small projects (less than 200 effort hours) with a viable delivery plan across IT partners; participate in rotating evening and weekend on-call coverage.
- Communicate effectively with users and leadership; provide training and support for users at all levels; ensure high standards of customer service and care.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Minimum of 3 years of Imaging IT support experience.
- Broad knowledge of 4-5 areas in clinical applications specialty; experience with design, development, implementation, user support, maintenance, QA, and testing.
- Working knowledge of Clinical Imaging IT systems and policies for managing, storing, and transferring medical images/data (DICOM, HL7).
- Experience with operating systems and applications on Windows; remote management via SSH, VNC, RDP; ability to diagnose problems and manage files remotely.
- Knowledge of security programs; at least 3 years of experience with DICOM communications, transfer syntaxes, SOP classes, and compression types.
- Experience with Vendor Neutral Archive, Enterprise Viewers, Diagnostic Viewers, Workflow Orchestrators, Radiation Dose management, DICOM Routers, post-processing systems, and AI tools.
- Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills; ability to train and collaborate with diverse users; detail-oriented with strong time management.
- Ability to work with senior staff and leadership, providing technical advice on functionality, efficiency, policy, and performance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in data migration.
- Licensing from the American Registry of Registered Technologists.
- Certified Imaging Informatics Professional.
