The Director of Behavioral Health Services oversees the agency's out-patient Behavioral Health Services program. This role includes the supervision of the New Morning Youth and Family Services Clinical Team. It also includes the implementation of community programs that address trauma, increasing community knowledge and access to trauma-informed services, and working collaboratively with the NMYFS Ashby House staff, local schools and various community entities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Serve as the Head of Services for Specialty Mental Health contracts,
· Participates in planning and implementation of training and support for NMYFS Behavioral Health Services providers and Ashby House staff regarding integrated behavioral health services throughout the agency,
· Manages NMYFS Behavioral Health Services staff through performance evaluations, periodic record reviews and case consultations as needed,
· Participates in hiring and scheduling of Behavioral Health Services staff,
· Directly supervises employees including licensed clinicians, associates, interns, and trainees in the Behavioral Health Services program at NMYFS in accordance with the state, local and organizational policies, procedures, and laws,
· Assigns caseloads and related duties and coordinates activities of staff in providing counseling and treatment services to assist clients,
· Trains new employees in areas such as agency policy, clinical procedures, and health records and provides ongoing direction to staff in areas such as new policies, procedures, regulations and therapeutic modalities,
· Oversee and maintain a responsive crisis response and management system,
· Oversee other positions working in collaboration with clinical staff,
· Works with program supervisors and Director of Administration to develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate prevention and educational activities throughout NMYFS as directed,
· Assists agency staff members through individual and group conferences in improving skills and in providing trauma-informed, best-practice care to clients,
· Represents the agency in community or in interagency activities,
· Attends department meetings and other meetings as assigned,
· Assists the Executive Director in seeking and writing grants for NMYFS,
· Assists administration and monitoring of grants, contracts, and programs in NMYFS program,
· Adheres to accreditation and compliance standards/guidelines,
· Maintains a professional, organized, clean working environment by following organizational policies, guidelines, and safety standards,
· Oversees staff adherence to HIPAA and other confidentiality policies,
· Participates in a quality assurance system for timely and appropriate documentation of client records,
· Monitors staff schedules to ensure that appropriate staffing levels are available to facilitate care in a timely manner and that adequate coverage is in place to support team members at all times, and
· Assists in the development and maintenance of departmental policy, procedures, and quality improvement activities within the clinic and agency as directed.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
· Solid understanding of budgeting, resourcing, and performance evaluation procedures,
· Excellent knowledge of standards and regulations for the clinical field,
· Proficient in MS Office and computer systems (e.g. patient management software),
· Excellent people skills,
· Aptitude in resolving issues and conflicts,
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written,

· Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and commitment to advocacy and equity including ability to work with a team and clients from diverse backgrounds,

· Availability to work in the field, office or Ashby House on evenings and weekends, as needed,

· Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and report on progress and timeline,
· Adapt easily to new protocols and changing environments,
· Knowledge of or experience working in a rural community is preferred.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:· Must have relevant licensed clinical degree (LCSW, LMFT, PsyD, PhD, LPCC, EdD),
· Proven experience as clinical director, supervisor or other managerial position,
