Join us at BMO as a Client Relationship Banker, where you will be the heart of our customer interactions. Your primary objective will be to provide exceptional service to our clients while identifying their financial needs and offering tailored solutions.

  • Proactively engage with existing customers and prospects to foster loyalty and uncover opportunities.
  • Conduct needs-based assessments and recommend personalized financial solutions, including everyday banking, lending options, and small business services.
  • Guide clients in using our digital and self-service options to ensure a smooth banking experience.
  • Support customer transactions and adapt to traffic demand.
  • Drive business growth by generating appointments and building community relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with credit audits and lending policies to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
  • Apply risk management techniques to protect the Bank's assets effectively.
  • Make informed credit recommendations following the Bank's established lending principles.
  • Collaborate as a key member of a dynamic branch team.
  • Engage with customers to listen and identify personal banking and credit card needs, integrating relevant marketing promotions into your discussions.
  • Stay organized and ensure work completeness and accuracy.
  • Innovate to personalize each customer experience, enhancing satisfaction.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the customer experience.
  • This role may require you to work at various branches or channels based on market needs with a flexible work schedule.
  • Adhere to all risk and compliance protocols to protect customer assets and privacy.
  • Maintain knowledge of personal banking products and trends, enriching customer interactions.
  • Identify and report any suspicious activities related to potential money laundering.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards in your jurisdiction.
  • Handle complex tasks within established guidelines and assist with escalations as necessary.
  • Analyze emerging issues and determine appropriate actions.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience, with a post-secondary degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Registration to sell investment products in Canada, as applicable.
  • Appropriate qualifications for lending.
  • Familiarity with personal and small business customer needs.
  • Understanding of retail investments and lending products.
  • Experience in financial services is advantageous.
  • Comfortable using social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
  • Experience in a customer service or sales position, with a passion for delivering personalized experiences.
  • Strong focus on results and teamwork in a consultative sales environment.
  • Proactive self-starter capable of engaging customers confidently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients.
  • Adept at listening, problem-solving, and adapting to new challenges.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, collaboration, and analytical skills.

This position involves acting as an originator of consumer loans and requires compliance with various regulations including the S.A.F.E. Act. A background check and credit history evaluation will be mandatory.

Salary: $41,714.00 - $69,000.00

Pay Type: Salaried

Compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, and experience, including potential commissions. For part-time roles, salaries will be pro-rated. BMO offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, tuition reimbursement, and retirement savings plans.
