SALARY: $27.18/hour
ABOUT AAFSC: For over 30 years, the Arab-American Family Support Center (AAFSC) has proudly served immigrant, refugee, and marginalized communities across New York. Community is at the heart of AAFSC's work; we help families navigate government benefits, learn English, prepare for the citizenship exam, secure affordable housing, and access mental health counseling. Job Summary: The NYC Family Justice Centers (FJCs) are an initiative of the Mayors Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence to reduce barriers faced by survivors of domestic and gender-based violence (GBV). GBV includes intimate partner and family violence, elder abuse, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking. The FJCs are multidisciplinary service centers providing social services, legal, and justice assistance for survivors and their childrenall under one roof. Arab American Family Support Center is co-located at the FJCs, partnering with various agencies to provide a safe and welcoming environment. Staff provide crisis intervention, case management, advocacy, referrals, and safety assessments.
Client Navigators greet clients, explain services, conduct initial assessments, and connect clients to appropriate services. They also provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and facilitate referrals to legal, mental health, and other services. The role includes maintaining client information, supporting client feedback initiatives, and collaborating with other staff to ensure comprehensive support. Candidates must have an Associate degree, at least two years of relevant experience, and a commitment to trauma-informed, client-centered practices. U.S. Work Authorization is required.
