This position serves as a Rehabilitation Technician/Client Intake And Support Specialist for the Blind/Visually Impaired in the Division of Blind Services, Career, Technology & Training Center for the Blind/Visually Impaired (CTTC) in Daytona, Florida. This position is responsible for communicating with Division staff and other service agency staff to expedite services for existing clients and to promote new referrals to the Career, Technology, and Training Center for the Blind & Visually Impaired (CTTC). The incumbent will make initial contact with the public, answer inquiries with factual referral information related to accessing services, as well as provide information and reassurance via telephone and face-to-face.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Acknowledge receipt of all referrals to the CTTC by processing referrals through contact with appropriate field (district) staff as well as through written correspondence and by attending administrative meetings.
- Review referral data collected from AWARE to verify accuracy of contact information, existence of appropriate plan codes, and transfer health and psychological reports to the Center's Case Data Management System, as well as verify that requested information has been collected and transposed into accessible formats.
- Review problems related to the referral process with the VRA and appropriate staff.
- Maintain ongoing contact with clients through review of client records to determine if additional contact is necessary.
- Timely and accurately document information in the case files.
- Inform clients of receipt of referrals and will disseminate the student handbooks in the preferred format.
- Incumbent will set-up and conduct tours with prospective clients and their families.
File Management:
- Set-up initial hard case files and ensure that the corresponding information is placed into the CTTC's case data management system.
- Alert the Vocational Rehabilitation Administrator (VRA) as well as case management when a physician's statement of health is ready for review.
- Update the health review information in the data management system. Upon feedback from the VRA, alert the case management supervisor to initiate the intake process. All required documentation will be placed into the appropriate sections of the hard case file which will be labeled and organized in an appropriate manner and stored in the file room.
Status Reconciliation Reports:
- Assure that the client status throughout the referral, intake, and arrival process to the CTTC is accurate.
- Run a reconciliation report to verify that the data has been entered properly.
- Provide the VRA with a monthly report of referrals received and processed.
- Maintain organization of the referral process and ensure case data collection is in formation for the purpose of audits and/or accreditations.
Technical Proficiency:
- Will effectively utilize the computer to produce reports, maintain documentation, submit accurate information related to case data management and produce accessible reports, as well as manage the calendar of case processing.
Other:
- Assist case management with the issuing and delivery of transportation vouchers for client travel.
- Provide support with instructional service activities, assist with the collation of instructional materials, and assist with occasional reception coverage.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field of study reasonably related to vocational rehabilitation, to indicate a level of competency and skill demonstrating basic preparation in a field of study such as vocational rehabilitation; or
- Four years of professional and relevant experience in a public vocational rehabilitation program. Preference will be given to those with a bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preference will be given to candidates with:
- A bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in a public vocational rehabilitation program.
- An ability to establish and maintain education and experience requirements to ensure an understanding of the evolving labor force and the needs of individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
