Description Clerk I, Health Information Management Department, Record Processing, University of Iowa Health Care, Health Care Support Services Building (HSSB) The Department of Health Information Management at the University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a part-time (20 hours/week), Clerk I. This position will be responsible for medical record activities with primary duties to include scanning and quality review of documents, may copy paper medical records or process MyChart self-access requests. This position location is in Coralville, IA and requires on-site presence. Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any conviction history and will be subject to a criminal background check. University Pay Grade: 03 Merit Alpha Matrix | University Human Resources - The University of Iowa Percent of Time: 50% Schedule: Monday-Friday, flexible hours between 7:30am-4:00pm, must work 4 hours a day Location: Coralville, IA Annual Salary: $18,071.64 to $23,333.40; starting at $17.31/hour Key Areas of Responsibility • Review, organize, and prepare internal and external patient documentation to be scanned into Epic. • Scan and download patient documents. • Perform daily audit on all scanned documents from both HIM and clinical departments. • Copy paper medical records. • Process MyChart self-access requests. • Review medical record copies for accuracy. • Perform Medical Records Tracking system functions. • Maintain the confidentiality of patient information including computerized data. • Exhibit behavior expected of a Health Information Management (HIM) staff member. • Perform other projects and tasks as assigned. As part of performing the key areas of responsibility and competencies described above, staff members are expected to meet reasonable standards of work quality and quantity, as well as expectations for attendance established by their supervisor. Staff members are also expected to comply with policies governing employee responsibilities and conduct, including those contained in the University Operations Manual.
Qualifications Minimum Eligibility Requirements: Ability to read, write and follow instructions. Desired Qualifications: • Ability to follow oral and written instructions. • Ability to learn to perform a variety of unskilled clerical tasks. • Ability to perform keyboarding and computer mouse functions. • Limited skill in operating office equipment. • Ability to communicate with staff, students, and the public. • Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 2 hours at a time.
