Information Position Summary Monitors the activity and environment of the library building; making hourly rounds of the entire building to routinely canvas the library and monitor students, computers, printers, and notice security or facility problems and communicate any issues to appropriate personnel;. The position will also close the building and report any issues to campus police and Manager of Library Operations; enforce library rules and policies; and may need to assist library users with basic circulation services. This position is one of three Library Clerks, who together provide coverage during the evening and weekend hours, and provide backup coverage for one another during infrequent absences. Additional mandatory hours and days are expected to be worked (evenings, and/or weekends) during the week before, and the week of, fall and spring academic finals, when the library stays open until midnight, and there is a definite increase in the number of library users.
