The Position
Are you a highly organized administrative professional with a keen eye for detail? The Bureau of Motor Vehicles is eager to welcome a Clerical Assistant 3 to the team. In this important role, you will provide a wide range of transaction processing, correspondence, discrepancy research, correction and information services to a variety of external customers, partners and contractors, and internally to all levels of the Department of Transportation. Description Of Work
In this role, you will independently research, write and issue letters to a wide range of customers, providing information related to PA Vehicle Code requirements, PennDOT programs, and vehicle titling and registration requirements. As a result of correspondence, you may be required to follow up by processing transactions or referring to other work units or Commonwealth agencies. Communication skills will be key as you take calls from the general public, partners, and internal customers, responding to inquiries. This includes responding to letters sent to PennDOT, or at the request of other work units on a wide range of motor vehicle-related subjects. You will be expected to independently research inquiries from customers utilizing the PA Vehicle Code, CARATS system records, PennDOT policies, procedures, personal interviews, statements, and other documentation to determine the accuracy of vehicle title and registration records. You will have the opportunity research and make independent decisions related to records and any products issued, perform record maintenance, and provide information to customers, partners, and other PennDOT work units.
Work Schedule And Additional Information
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
