DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Clerical Assistant 2 in this position will provide clerical support to the Facility and Grounds Director of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. The successful candidate will have responsibility for answering incoming phone calls, including requests for urgent and emergency work; compose letters and correspondence; maintain transportation and housekeeping logs and schedules; and complete internal and external requests for supplies and equipment. Additional duties include scheduling repair work with vendors, schedules project meetings, enter shopping carts for procurement, and proofreads any statements of work for contractors.   • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 7:00am to 3:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will nothave the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
