QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Minimum of a High School diploma.
  • Must possess a valid Nebraska Driver's License.
  • Knowledge of the safe use of hand tools, power equipment, self-propelled mowers, snow removal equipment, and the safe use of cleaning materials and equipment.
  • The ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
  • Knowledge of custodial work schedules and familiarity with all district buildings.
  • Grounds keeping experience beneficial.
  • Flexibility to work anywhere during the shift assigned.
  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (Include, but are not limited to)
  • Performs all assigned duties of a custodian, and adheres to the cleaning schedule of each building.
  • Fills in as directed to assume the duties of absent custodians in their assigned areas or buildings, with the capability of keeping the normal flow of the building intact with minimal interruption.
  • Performs district snow removal and deliver ice melt supplies.
  • Performs all outside duties assigned by the supervisor, (i.e. mowing, weeding, painting, repairing, picking up trash, setting/removing snow fence, fertilizing, spraying weeds, planting) and other tasks as assigned.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on mowing and snow removal equipment; (i.e. changing oil and oil filters, greasing, fueling, sharpen blades, etc.)
  • Assists supervisor with building security checks after each building use.
  • Performs other duties as directed by supervisor.
  • OTHER REQUIREMENTS: (Intellectual, Sensory)
  • Demonstrates proper mixture of cleaning chemicals.
  • Properly operates mowers and power equipment.
