Classification & Compensation Consultant 1 week ago Be among the first 25 applicantsBase Pay Range $53.00/hr - $83.00/hrAdditional Compensation Types Annual Bonus and Sign-on bonusThe Opportunity The Classification and Compensation Consultant is responsible for providing professional classification and compensation consulting services to statewide clientele. This role will conduct detailed and transparent total compensation surveys to assist clients in determining their competitiveness in the comparable labor market. The role will also complete comprehensive reclassification analyses to support clients in properly classifying positions within their workforce. Additionally, the role will seek opportunities to expand the consulting services offered and play an integral role in marketing and training on the topics of classification and compensation.This hybrid role requires physical presence in one of our five offices (Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Fresno, or Sacramento) one to two days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remaining days. Collaboration with attorneys, clients, and staff across the firm and State is an essential part of this position and a benefit to the chosen candidate.Essential FunctionsDemonstrate expertise in California public sector classification and compensation.Design, create, and maintain client-specific total compensation survey templates based in Excel.Perform independent research and gather total compensation data from job postings, salary schedules, collective bargaining agreements, salary resolutions, benefit overviews, agency websites, and direct correspondences with agency staff.Conduct moderate to complex analytical work, including interpreting and analyzing compensation data points.Use advanced spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess and report results.Provide total compensation survey insights to support labor negotiations and/or upcoming budget processes.Complete classification studies and reclassification analysis, including interviews with pertinent client staff, performing onsite desk audits, and drafting analytical memorandums with findings and potential new client-specific classification specifications.Create and manage a statewide database of public agency collective bargaining agreements.Prepare exhibits for labor negotiations and fact-finding hearings.Research collective bargaining topics, including economic and non-economic benefits.Provide professional support in marketing and training efforts on the topics of classification and compensation.Minimum Requirements and Skills for SuccessBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field, and a minimum of five years of professional human resources experience including significant experience in classification and compensation work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Professional certification (e.g., PSHRA-SCP, SHRM-SCP) is desirable.Extensive knowledge and expertise in classification and compensation within the context of California labor relations is preferred.Proficiency in Excel, ChatGPT, and data collection tools.Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and exercise sound judgment.Strong attention to detail.Ability to independently research, analyze, and evaluate data.Ability to effectively communicate in-person, virtually, and through social media.Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) StatementLiebert Cassidy Whitmore is an equal opportunity employer.
