This Claims Assistant II position is an individual contributor role supporting the Claims and Claims Operations staff. As a member of the Everest Insurance Operation team, the Claims Assistant II will be responsible for managing day-to-day tasks as well as assisting with projects that support the various Claims Transformation projects and overall growth of the Claims organization. The Claims Assistant II reports to the Claims Lead Operations Specialist.

Position Description

Support the Claims organization with initial claims intake and set up, financial processes, customer service, data management, vendor management, and special projects as needed.

  • Oversee claim intake, acknowledgment and processing of first notice of loss materials; investigation and follow up to secure claim documentation
  • Ongoing claim file maintenance including diary management
  • Processing payments and other financial transactions
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets and databases
  • Assist colleagues with a variety of operational functions as needed, including special projects
  • Customer service support including answering calls and responding to email inquiries as needed
  • Perform quality control and oversight of outside vendors
  • Provide support to Claims Professionals
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Property and casualty insurer and Claims-related experience preferred but not required
  • At least 1 year of previous operations/administrative experience preferred but not required

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel Suite skills and PowerPoint)

For NY and NJ Only: The base salary range for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
