Talascend is currently seeking a Civil Superintendent for a contract opportunity with our client in Missouri, Missouri. Overview The Civil Superintendent is responsible for field operations on assigned projects to achieve safe, timely, and profitablecompletion. This role involves planning, organizing, and supervising construction work, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and managing subcontractor activities. Responsibilities
- Responsible for the oversight of project work activities including earth work, site grading, flatwork, surveying, concrete installation, deep foundations, underground piping, and ductbanks.
- Supervise construction efforts including safety, productivity, material management, scheduling, and contractual performance.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance on civil construction activities.
- Build effective client and subcontractor relationships.
- Collaborate with project management to develop and implement project procedures and standards.
- Authorize purchase requisitions and field design change requests under supervision.
- Review and audit site-specific safety documentation regularly.
- Complete daily field reports and document construction progress with pictures.
- Assess future work activities and identify concerns using subcontractors' reports.
- Develop marked-up and as-built drawings and answer RFIs.
- Direct and manage subcontractors to comply with project schedules.
- Verify material deliveries and ensure proper storage and maintenance.
- Coordinate with QA/QC Manager to verify welder qualifications.
- Witness equipment setting and alignment.
- Walk down systems pre- and post-testing to verify compliance.
- Develop punch lists for items out of compliance.
- Ensure the most current drawing revisions are used in the field.
- Oversee craft supervision and project staffing.
- Provide oversight of project site material and tool management.
- Supervise daily construction efforts in accordance with established policies.
- Read, interpret, and understand isometric drawings, structural drawings, and P&IDs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree and 7 years construction management experience or craft supervision experience on Civil projects.
- Associate Degree and 9 years construction management experience or craft supervision experience on Civil projects.
- High School Diploma/GED and 11 years construction management experience or craft supervision experience on Civil projects.
Requirements
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills required.
- Strong safety background is essential.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite is required.
- Must be able to meet driving requirements.
