If you have 5+ years of structural engineering experience with a focus on light gauge steel systems, we want to hear from you! What You'll Do:
- Design, analyze, and detail cold-formed steel structures in accordance with California Building Code (CBC), AISI, and ASCE standards.
- Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and specifications for submittals and permitting.
- Stamp and sign structural documents as Engineer of Record for projects within California.
- Perform structural modeling using industry-leading tools like RISA, CFS, SAP2000, Revit, Telka Structures, and/or AutoCAD.
- Coordinate seamlessly with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay ahead of the curve on industry codes, materials, and best practices specific to light gauge steel systems.
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide crucial construction administration support.
- Mentor junior engineers and drafters, providing quality control and expert technical guidance.
What You'll Bring:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- REQUIRED: An active California PE License (this is a must-have!).
- 5+ years of hands-on structural engineering experience with a strong emphasis on light gauge steel systems.
- Proficiency in relevant structural analysis software (e.g., RISA, CFS, ETABS, STAAD, AutoCAD).
- Strong knowledge of cold-formed steel design, lateral systems, and seismic considerations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills - you're a team player!
- Ability to expertly manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Bonus Points for (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with design-build delivery or coordination with panelized/prefabricated systems.
- Familiarity with DSA or OSHPD project requirements (strongly desired).
- A PE License in other states.
- An SE License (Structural Engineer - CA) is a plus, but not required.
