Job DescriptionTimmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III - Roadway Design Transportation Group candidate to join our Roadway Design Transportation Group located in our Raleigh, NC office location.Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:* Lay out horizontal alignments and vertical profiles for road widening projects* Model and design roadway improvement projects using AutoDesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads Designer* Use 3D visualization software for client and public communication presentations* Develop plan sheets and compile project packages for project submission* Complete roadway and drainage calculations utilizing software and reference material* Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates* Research and download available GIS open-source data* Complete field observations and data collection for office use and project discussion* Learn new technology to advance own skill set and group knowledge* Attend project meetings with clients and contractorsSkills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:* A bachelors or master's degree in civil engineering or closely related field* Ideal candidates would have at least two years of experience in transportation civil engineering related to roadway design* Bentley OpenRoads Designer proficiency preferred* AutoDesk Civil 3D proficiency preferred* VDOT experience preferred* EIT preferred
