In this role, you will be supporting the overall mission of the US Attorney's Office (USAO). If you are looking for a meaningful, mission-driven career, join FSA! Responsibilities:

The Civil Investigator will work closely with Assistant United States Attorneys to investigate trends and leads, develop potential cases, and gather evidence for prosecution. The investigator will also support existing fraud cases by collaborating with agents from the Office of Inspector General (OIG), especially in large and complex investigations.

  • Conduct professional investigations and verify facts in Criminal, Civil, and National Security matters.
  • Provide expert testimony in court, affidavits, and Grand Jury proceedings.
  • Travel as needed to support investigations.
  • Analyze information and produce intelligence assessments for investigators.
  • Prepare written reports and analyses of investigations and intelligence.
  • Possess above-average oral communication skills.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or additional experience may substitute.
  • Formal training and certification in investigative expertise.

Preferred technical competencies include:

  • Experience in specific investigative fields.
  • Strong web-based research skills.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms, language translation software, OSINT techniques, and social media analytic tools.
  • High competency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with analytical software such as Palantir, I-2 Analyst Notebook, Glimpse, or Pen-Link.
  • Ability to create visual aids like graphs and charts for case presentations.
  • Ability to testify in court regarding investigative findings.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Additional Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship and a minimum background investigation of 7 or 10 years.

Target salary range: $79,140 - $91,010, based on experience and other factors.
