Cisco Network Architect - MetroSys : Job Details

MetroSys is seeking a highly experienced Cisco Subject Matter Expert at the architect level to support our client's enterprise infrastructure needs in Spartanburg, SC. This is a hands-on, onsite position that requires deep Cisco expertise, rapid learning of complex environments, and the ability to respond swiftly to network performance issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the lead Cisco SME for the customer's enterprise network environment.

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and provide root cause analysis for network outages, latency, and performance issues.

• Architect and implement high-availability Cisco network solutions in a complex, enterprise-class environment.

• Evaluate current network infrastructure and make recommendations for improvements and best practices.

• Collaborate closely with internal teams and stakeholders to understand business needs and align network strategies accordingly.

• Document all designs, configurations, and incident response actions clearly and thoroughly.

• Participate in on-site meetings, incident response, and planning sessions as required.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of hands-on enterprise networking experience with a focus on Cisco technologies.

• Strong background in network architecture, design, and operations.

• Proven ability to perform deep-dive diagnostics and rapid root cause analysis under pressure.

• Experience working through major incidents, including outages and network performance degradations.

• Ability to ramp up quickly and assess existing environments with minimal guidance.

• Excellent communication skills and professionalism in high-stakes, customer-facing settings.

• CCIE certification preferred, but not required if commensurate experience is demonstrated.
