Position SummaryThe College of Engineering's Dr. Jenna Jambeck seeks an experienced professional for the role Director of Circulatory Assessment Protocol. A MacArthur Grant winner in 2022, Dr. Jambeck's research focuses on investigating the scale of plastic pollution and galvanizing efforts to address plastic waste. Dr. Jambeck is internationally recognized for her research on plastic waste in the ocean and for the Marine Debris Tracker app she co-created with fellow faculty member Kyle Johnsen.
The College invites applications for a 12-month, not-tenure-track position at the Academic Professional rank to support project management in the Circularity Informatics Lab. This position has a tentative start date of January 1, 2025.
This position will be responsible for the management of multiple Circularity Assessment Protocol (CAP) projects focusing on plastic around the world. The position will manage budgets, teams of researchers, work closely with partners (NGOs, governments, private sector, foundations), build international partnerships, attend and represent the work at meetings and workshops, write proposals and compose reports.
Additional RequirementsAll candidates must have a terminal degree with a concentration in waste-, environmental-, or sustainability-related studies.
Applicants should have a history of project work with plastic pollution researchers both in the office and in the field, and with international collaborators on research projects.
