ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT POSITION IN THE CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DIVISION The Benton County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division is currently looking to fill the position of full-time Administrative Assistant. We will be accepting resumes and letters of intent beginning today, Monday, September 8, 2025 through Thursday, September 11, 2025. The ideal candidate will be a positive collaborative team member with a friendly energetic work style, a highly self-motivated individual that is exceptionally well-organized, able to effectively manage and prioritize work and take initiative with projects in a reasonable and timely manner. As an Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for performing various administrative and clerical tasks to support the daily operations of the office. You will assist the team by helping ensure that the office runs smoothly and efficiently. Most importantly, the core duties and responsibilities of an Administrative Assistant revolve around supporting others. Essential Duties and Responsibilities will primarily include, but are not limited to the following: (Other duties may be assigned) • Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of office. • Exhibit polite and professional communication via phone, e-mail, and mail. • Screen calls and email messages for the Captain, Lieutenant, Sergeants and Detectives. • Contact internal/external personnel to compile weekly/quarterly divisional statistic reports. • Comprehend computer system programs such as: Microsoft Office Suites, Agency Report Management System/software, and Arkansas/National Crime Information Center (ACIC/NCIC). • Executes monthly Arkansas/National Crime Information Center (ACIC/NCIC) validations that are audited by ACIC/NCIC & Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). • Validate ACIC/NCIC Teletype entries created by Central Communications Division to ensure that the information entered into the database is accurate. • ACIC/NCIC terminal requests include: queries, driver's licenses, criminal histories, criminal records, driver's licenses photo identifications, vehicle license plates, state ID numbers, FBI numbers, & background checks on subjects in state, as well as subjects out-of-state. Accesses date of births, social security numbers, and suspect/victim information. • Knowledge of creating quality graphics, hierarchy and organizational charts. • Devise and create forms needed for processing paperwork. • Encompass organization and maintain the efficiency of proper case auditing for all crime reports to ensure uniformity. • Prepares a monthly On-Call Schedule for General CID & Special Operations Unit (SOU) via Microsoft Exchange. • Support civilian visitors, external agencies, insurance companies, and other various entities. • Obtain copies of all U.S Department of Justice Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Dispositions (ATF). • Processes all U.S Department of Justice Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) dispositions. • Track all recorded interviews for the Prosecuting Attorney's Office. • Ensure operation of office equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories and evaluating new equipment and techniques. • Maintain supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, and anticipate needed supplies. • Scribe weekly meeting reports for internal staff. • Perform other various tasks as assigned. This position will require you to develop positive working and communicative relationships with other divisions of the Benton County Sheriff's Office and various entities such as the Benton County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, Circuit and Municipal Courts, Domestic Violence Office, Department of Human Services, Central Communications, Arkansas State Police, ACIC/NCIC, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and other Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement agencies and personnel. The employee must be able to represent the Benton County Sheriff's Office in a professional and respectful manner at all times. Mandatory Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent education required - 3 years of assistant/secretarial/clerical experience - Possess quality secretarial skills, grammatical, and communication skills. - ACIC Level I & II Certified (Agency can/will accommodate training if not already certified) - Notary Public (Agency can/will accommodate if not already obtained) - Knowledge of appropriate software including: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Adobe Acrobat Pro Preferred (not mandatory) - 3+ years experience in a Law Enforcement or Legal secretarial setting
