Childwatch Leader - YMCA : Job Details

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Supervises and trains Childwatch staff. Provides Childwatch care under healthy and safe conditions for participants of YMCA programs.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES / POSITION RESPONSIBILITY:

Supervises and trains Childwatch staff. Schedules Childwatch staff according to established guidelines. Conducts staff meetings. Ensures the implementation of YMCA policies and procedures by Childwatch staff, including health, safety and emergency procedures. Attends staff meetings and trainings as required.

KNOW-HOW:

18 years of age or older. Must be able to receive and maintain CPR, First Aid, AED, Blood borne Pathogen, Child Abuse Training & Drug and Alcohol Abuse training certifications. High school education or equivalent; credits in early childhood education preferred. One year or more of experience with children. Knowledge of child development and positive discipline techniques. Previous experience in staff supervision. Has a positive attitude and follows directions. Relates to children, members and other staff in a positive manner. Ability to lift and carry at least 30 lbs.
