JOB DESCRIPTION: CHILD NUTRITION INVENTORY CLERKSALARY SCHEDULE: SCHEDULE HDEPARTMENT: CHILD NUTRITIONFLSA STATUS: EXEMPTSAFETY-SENSITIVE: YESPOSITION SUMMARY: The Child Nutrition Inventory Clerk oversees the receiving of Child Nutrition products from vendors and USDA. The clerk ensures that deliveries from the warehouse to all school sites are made correctly. Inventory for both purchased and USDA products must be updated and accurate for review from state or federal authorities at any time. All Commodity distribution and Mid-Del CN procedures including safe receiving, storage, handling, and transferring must be followed. Additional duties that must be completed are recording temperature checks of the freezer and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training, equivalent combination of education and experienceESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensures the security, safety, and sanitation of all purchased and USDA items by following all
  • Mid-Del Child Nutrition and USDA handling, receiving, and distribution procedures.
  • Checks and enters all CN deliveries to verify correct items and quantities are received.
  • Submits verification of all deliveries to the CN office.
  • Receives food and supply orders from the Child Nutrition Office for school sites.
  • Completes the transfer of food and supply items in CN online software, Mosaic.
  • Supplies the warehouse workers with a summary of pull items for deliveries to school sites
  • and ensures all items pulled are correct prior to delivery.
  • Ensures all necessary delivery documentation is signed and returned after delivery is made.
  • Assists with deliveries and pickups when needed.
  • Completes monthly inventories on USDA and non-USDA food and supply items.
  • Additional duties that may be assigned by immediate supervisor or above.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals. Demonstrate ability to write daily reports. Demonstrate the ability to communicate with students, parents, co-workers and CN staff, other department staff and school facility with professionalism and respect.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform routine computations requiring knowledge of addition, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Demonstrate the ability to adapt recipes to correct number of portions to prepare.REASONING ABILITY: Demonstrate the ability to solve practical problems, and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
