Job Description :
Xavier Catholic Schools is seeking a *Care Program Aide* to help support the daily operations of our before, after, and extended care programs. This person will assist in creating a safe and nurturing environment for Elementary school students. The ideal candidate is passionate about child development and making a positive impact in a school setting.*This is a part-time position. **Responsibilities:** Assist Childcare Program Leads in planning and facilitating age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, games, field trips, homework help, and other activities.* Encourage and assist student participation and engagement in all activities.* Support the development of social skills and positive interactions among students.* Assist in providing health snacks and meals, while also assisting with proper hygiene, eating, and toileting practices.* Monitor students during program hours to ensure their safety and well-being. Report any suspect abuse to the supervisor.* Implement and enforce program rules and guidelines consistently. Communicate program policies and updates to parents/guardians.* Respond promptly to any emergencies or incidents, following established protocols.* Maintain open and effective communication to staff, students, and parents/guardians.* Help set up and clean up care program rooms/spaces before and after activities.* Ensure that all supplies and materials are properly maintained and stored.* Safeguard confidential information and inquiries in a professional manner.* Represent Xavier Catholic Schools professionally in interactions with stakeholders, including parents, community members, staff and students*Education and Experience: ** High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in Early Childhood or equivalent preferred.* Experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting is preferred.* CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.*Required Skills/Abilities:** Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Patience, creativity, and a genuine interest in working with children* Proficient in using technology including hardware, software and applications* Demonstrates teamwork skills with individuals from diverse backgrounds* Skilled in conflict resolution and maintaining confidentiality* Submission to a legal background checkJob Type: TemporarySchedule:* 8 hour shift* Day shift* Monday to Friday* No weekendsWork Location: In person
