Job Summary:

The Chief of University Police and Executive Director of Campus Services is responsible for the direction and management of all administrative and operational functions of the department. This role oversees police and security functions, public safety, parking, vehicle services, shipping, property control, key control, and safety/environmental compliance across all NEIU locations.

Job Description:

  • Establish performance standards and supervise and train department personnel.
  • Develop and administer the department's annual budget, including long-range strategic planning to meet university needs.
  • Ensure effective enforcement of federal, state, and local laws; coordinate interagency efforts; advise on law enforcement, security, emergency preparedness, and crime prevention.
  • Collaborate with university constituencies, serve on and chair various committees, and ensure compliance with safety and security regulations including the Jeanne Clery Act, Title IX, and other relevant laws.
  • Enforce university policies, initiate disciplinary actions, conduct internal investigations, and oversee accreditation efforts.
  • Develop, revise, and enforce departmental policies; conduct inspections for compliance.
  • Supervise campus services including vehicle services, shipping, property, and safety/environmental compliance.
  • Oversee parking operations, regulations, and related operational controls, serving as the final authority on parking and vehicle services matters.

    • Minimum Qualifications:

    A bachelor's degree in Police Science, Law Enforcement, or related field is required; a master's degree and advanced law enforcement training are preferred. Candidates should have at least 10 years of law enforcement management experience, familiarity with NIMS and ICS protocols, and experience in developing emergency plans. Strong communication, organizational, management, and problem-solving skills are essential. Experience working on a college campus is preferred.

    Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000
