Job Description :

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chief of Staff to serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to our Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This individual will play a critical role in working cross-functionally to drive the CEO's agenda, manage operational routines, and contribute to the overall success of the company. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with a proven track record of success in revenue generation, strategy development, and business operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious executive to further develop leadership skills and contribute to a high-performing organization.

This position is an individual contributor with no direct reports, though support from temporary or loaned staff may be available as needed. The role involves close collaboration with WEX's Executive Leadership team and Senior Leadership across the organization. Travel is expected to be 25-40%.

Responsibilities
  • CEO Advisory and Support
    • Translate the CEO's vision into actionable projects and initiatives.
    • Manage a portfolio of projects as assigned by the CEO.
    • Attend shareholder meetings and key events with the CEO.
    • Provide strategic advice and counsel on various business matters.
    • Act as a sounding board, offering objective perspectives and challenging assumptions.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution
    • Serve as a strategic advisor, collaborating on growth opportunities and market research.
    • Work with the CEO and Corporate Strategy to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
    • Partner with HR to integrate strategic initiatives into performance management.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Oversee daily operations of the CEO's office, ensuring efficiency.
    • Act as liaison between the CEO and stakeholders.
    • Prepare presentations and reports for investor relations and other stakeholders.
    • Establish operational routines for the Executive Leadership Team to drive outcomes.
    • Ensure alignment of core company routines and processes.
  • Board of Directors
    • Assist in developing board agendas, materials, and logistics.
    • Prepare reports and presentations for the Board.
    • Review and ensure cohesion and alignment of all materials with strategic initiatives.
  • Financial Management
    • Contribute to the company's financial strategy in partnership with the CEO and CFO.
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Lead with collaboration, innovation, and accountability, embodying WEX leadership values.
    • Mentor and coach employees across the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience with proven success in revenue, strategy, and operations.
  • Strong understanding of the payments industry is highly desirable.
  • Experience in technology, benefits, or mobility sectors is a plus.
  • Exceptional financial acumen and P&L expertise.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High integrity and discretion.

The compensation range for this role is $199,000 to $265,000, based on qualifications and experience. This includes base salary, potential bonuses, and comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and more. Most roles are eligible for additional incentives like commissions or bonuses as applicable.
