Base pay range

$160,000.00/yr - $190,000.00/yr

Our client, a growing and forward-thinking organization, is seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Investment Officer to lead and oversee the company's investment strategies and portfolios. As a key member of the executive team, the CIO will be responsible for driving investment performance, shaping policy, and managing both internal teams and external relationships that support the organization's financial objectives.Chief Investment Officer Position OverviewThe CIO will lead the strategic direction, oversight, and execution of all investment activities. This role includes managing a diversified investment portfolio, monitoring performance, ensuring compliance, and developing policies that align with short-term and long-term organizational goals. The Chief Investment Officer will collaborate closely with the CEO and Executive Committee, provide high-level insights and reporting, and ensure a disciplined, performance-driven investment function.Chief Investment Officer Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the execution of the annual investment plan, establishing performance targets and operational goals aligned with overall corporate strategy.
  • Oversee all aspects of investment execution including due diligence, financial modeling, risk analysis, valuations, and compliance.
  • Monitor and assess portfolio performance, implementing strategies to enhance returns while managing risk exposure.
  • Establish and continuously refine investment policies and asset allocation strategies.
  • Drive strategic planning initiatives, contributing to the organization's broader financial vision and long-term growth objectives.
  • Lead the preparation of strategic investment documentation, including the Annual Investment Plan and related board reports.
  • Evaluate and manage portfolio risk characteristics, ensuring alignment with investment guidelines and policies.
  • Conduct regular rebalancing activities to maintain target asset allocations.
  • Supervise all daily departmental operations, ensuring a culture of high performance, accountability, and ethical integrity.
  • Serve as the key liaison to the Executive Committee, presenting regular investment updates and recommendations.
  • Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with the CEO and other senior leaders to ensure the success of the overall investment program.
  • Represent the organization externally, as needed, with investors, partners, and other financial stakeholders.
  • Build, develop, and retain a high-performing investment team through strong leadership, coaching, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional excellence within the investment division.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies and applicable regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Chief Investment Officer Education And Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field required; Master's degree or CFA/CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in investment management, including leadership of internal investment programs.
  • Deep expertise in portfolio strategy, asset management, risk mitigation, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and execute complex investment opportunities using market data, business plans, and valuation methodologies.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to anticipate trends, manage risk, and drive high-impact investment decisions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and a results-oriented approach.
  • Proven track record of negotiating and managing sophisticated financial transactions and partnerships.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams in high-performance environments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex investment concepts for executive stakeholders.
