VP Technology/Infrastructure

Location: New Orleans, LA

The Chief Information Security Officer performs responsibilities with high independence, providing consulting, materials, programs, and analysis related to computer, information, and network security. This role coordinates the development, implementation, and administration of security policies, practices, standards, and programs across the University. The position involves participating in project development to maintain security best practices, coordinating security awareness programs, and contributing to strategic planning, budgeting, and project planning. The CISO also assesses computer systems and network security risks, investigates security incidents, and develops contingency plans. Collaboration with offices such as the Vice President of IT, General Counsel, and Internal Audit is essential. The role requires attending conferences and training to stay current.

• Excellent knowledge of Healthcare Information Security and HIPAA compliance.
• Familiarity with data administration, SDLC, data dictionaries, and database management software.
• Strong understanding of corporate applications and security requirements.
• Leadership, supervisory skills, and effectiveness in decentralized environments.
• Team building, budget development, financial and resource management skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 10 years of varied IT experience, including supervisory roles.
• 7 years of direct computer and network security experience.
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.

• Master's Degree in related fields.
• Additional security certifications.
• HIPAA knowledge in clinical and hospital operations.
• Experience in computer forensics, law enforcement technology, data privacy legislation, and data governance.
• Technical experience in system programming, applications development, database administration, network operations, user support, or data center operations.
