Chief Financial Officer - Appalachian State University : Job Details

Minimum Qualifications Masters degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. CPA or CFA certification preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. In-depth knowledge of finance, budgeting, and investment management. Familiarity with emerging issues, trends, relevant regulations and compliance requirements in higher education. Demonstrated understanding of complex research budget portfolios composed of state funds, extramural funding from sponsored grants and contracts, facilities and administration costs, and licensing fees. The ability and commitment to safeguard all fiscal, human, technological and physical assets with ethical practices, strong internal controls, and corrective action to address audit findings.
