THE OPPORTUNITY
People Inc, a leading multi-specialty non-profit health and human services agency is seeking a Chief Financial Officer. With 200 locations across Western New York and the Greater Rochester region, People Inc. provides a diverse compliment of person-centered and innovative programs and services to more than 10,000 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, families, and older adults.
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for guiding the organization's financial strategy, operations, and long-term sustainability. This leader will play a critical role in advancing the mission of People Inc. by ensuring sound financial stewardship, promoting transparency, and driving organizational effectiveness.
The CFO will bring a mission-driven approach to financial leadership, ensuring that fiscal strategies align with the organization's purpose and values. As a collaborative and trusted partner, the CFO will provide financial expertise and insight to support strategic decision-making across all levels of the organization. This individual will lead with integrity, fostering an open and transparent financial culture that builds trust with internal and external stakeholders, including program leaders, board members, donors, and funders.
Recognizing the dynamic nature of a large and complex nonprofit, the CFO must be an effective and empathetic change agent—one who can drive innovation and process improvements while respecting the organization's history, culture, and the diverse perspectives of its staff and partners. Through a respectful, inclusive, and data-informed approach to change management, the CFO will strengthen financial systems and practices to enhance operational efficiency, sustainability, and long-term impact.

Oversight
The CFO reports to the CEO and will oversee the Accounting and Finance in the areas of Financial Reporting, Budgeting, Payroll, Support Services, Revenue Mgt, Accounts Receivable, Internal Audits, Annual Audits/CFR, Purchasing, Rep Payee, Tax Credit, Property Mgt Finance, and HUD.

Qualifications
Salary is competitive and will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and the organization's compensation structure. A general range for this role is $275,000-$300,000.
